Services - project management
Projects are managed by experienced managers, QA/QC engineers, marketing manager, plant manager and the top
management.
After the acceptance of contract award project management will normally consist of:
- Design calculation, material selection and submission for approval
- Producing shop drawing and submission for approval
- Cutting plan, forming and machining details
- Project planning (cost control, meeting and assignment of manpower, equipment, work area)
- Payment, purchasing, sub-contracting
- Inspection and progress report
- Problems solving, change of design, change of procedure, re-submission for approval
- Final inspection
- Packing and shipping and/or handing over at site
- Contract closing and keeping document for a certain period
The project engineer or manager is the primary contact for the client, architects, engineers, suppliers and
sub-contractors. The project engineer or manager
handles the documents, coordinates the fabrication and purchasing, and watches closely the project as
it goes through drafting, fabrication, delivery and installation.
Kick-off meeting
Once a contract is awarded, the kick-off meeting is arranged. The project manager
presents the project to the designer/draftsman, plant manager and other staff that will be involved in the
project. All information are reviewed and discussed for any possible problems.
Scheduling
Project engineer or manager will work very closely with top management, design and drafting, purchasing, production
team to keep the schedule that meets the client's requirement. This schedule is monitored and adjusted
regularly, and the client is informed of any changes.
Purchasing
Purchasing officer is responsible for securing the required materials and sub-contracting needed for the project
to be finished on schedule. He will be closely working with the project engineer and the accounting/financial
section.
